Terms of Service

Welcome to Family OS. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Family OS mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by GoTech Studio ("we," "our," or "us").

By downloading, installing, or using Family OS, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Family OS, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction)
  • You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
  • You agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations
  • If you are under 18, you have parental or guardian consent to use the Service

2. Account Registration

To use Family OS, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain the security of your password and account credentials
  • Promptly update your account information if it changes
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

3. Subscription and Payment

Free Tier

Family OS offers a free tier with limited functionality:

  • Up to 4 family members per household
  • Up to 10 tasks
  • Shared calendar and basic notifications

Premium Subscription

Premium features are available through an auto-renewing subscription:

  • Price: $9.99 per month (or pricing displayed at time of purchase)
  • Payment: Processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store
  • Auto-Renewal: Your subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • Charging: Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
  • Free Trial: If a free trial is offered, it will convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless cancelled

Cancellation

You can manage and cancel your subscription through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused portions of a subscription period.

Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google in accordance with their respective refund policies. We are unable to issue refunds directly for subscriptions processed through app stores.

4. Household and Members

Family OS is designed for household coordination. You agree to:

  • Only create households with family members or household members you know and trust
  • Respect the privacy and roles of household members
  • Not use the Service to harass, bully, or harm any household member
  • Household administrators are responsible for managing member access and roles
  • Child accounts should only be created by parents or legal guardians

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Use the Service to transmit spam, malware, or harmful content
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Collect or harvest personal information of other users without consent
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Resell, sublicense, or distribute the Service without authorization

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by GoTech Studio and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.

7. User Content

You retain ownership of all data, tasks, events, and other content you create within Family OS. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and transmit your content solely to provide the Service. We will not use your content for any other purpose without your explicit consent.

8. AI Features

Family OS may include AI-powered features such as daily briefings and an AI assistant. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • AI-generated responses may not always be accurate or complete
  • AI features are provided for informational purposes and should not replace professional advice
  • Your queries may be processed by third-party AI providers (OpenAI, Google Gemini, or Groq)
  • We are not responsible for any decisions made based on AI-generated content

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. We disclaim all responsibility for any harm resulting from your use of the Service.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GOTECH STUDIO SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, USE, OR PROFITS, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless GoTech Studio and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the Service ceases immediately
  • We may retain your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy
  • You may request account deletion by contacting us

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the competent courts of the applicable jurisdiction.

14. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms within the app and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
